Raped

Painfully,he digs his fingers into my arm
Fear seizes me,I know he'll cause me harm
His eyes are hellish, shining with cruel lust
I can feel tonight he'll turn my body to dust

Rudely like a beast,he throws me on the floor
My clothes, body and soul,he violently tore
Clawing and ripping away my tender parts,
He riddled my heart with poisonous darts.

He beats me up,terrorizing and horrifying me
Powerless before him,I helplessly fight to be free
He is using me and my body without permission
My shamed body hating itself for its submission

He leaves me,torn,dirty,corrupted and battered
I'll never be the same again,my life is shattered
He proved it,over my person I've no control
In insecurity, fear and stigma,my heart does roll

I'm changed forever,I'll never feel the same
I don't know how long I'll carry this shame
Forever afraid, over my shoulder I'll always look
Lest he come again, my everything he just took!

My confidence lost, tortured and brutalized by him
My mind is now a cage, and I've become a victim
It's not fun,it's not sex,you can't rape a woman
It's an unforgivable sin,a crime against being human!!!

Author's note:Just read about another rape in New Delhi. In sheer disgust,I wrote this!!!!!

  1. Hey Rahul....woaa!! well u knw what, every time I read about incidents of assault, molestation and rape in Delhi, it just makes my mind go "not again!"...Being a Delhite, I really feel disgusted that we girls out here don't even have the freedom to feel secure in the very city we are living in. All through my three yrs. og undergrad life, I saw how eve teasing happens not just when girls are wearing skirts or are bare armed, but even when they are fully clothed in winter as well...I can go on and on...but yes, these are issues which seriously need to be dealt with...wonderfully written!

  2. @Aakriti I would suggest all girls to take up self-defense classes. So that if ever some ass-hole even dares lay a hand on her,she can just thrash him black and blue...Speedy justice...Knock that bastard's balls off,if she can.....

This is something that touched somewhere soft. It is shameful and disgusting that such happening still occur leaving a woman feeling disgusted of her own soul being the victim to someone's lust.
Sometimes, it does turn to be the girl's fault for seducing or attracting such men. However on most occasions, innocent lives fall prey to such inhuman acts.
This is terrific a post :)

  4. @Priyanka Thanks for your lovely comment.:-) Now if I be allowed to make a small suggestion, then please do me and yourself a favor by enrolling yourself and your buddies in some self-defense classes. There are a whole bunch of low-lives out there who don't think twice before violating a woman's body......You cannot just let any guy walk into your life and shatter it..

  5. So many men think this way, so many.
Alas, the few who don't create a bad name for them.
They (twisted bastard rapists) destroy lives and there is a generalized rant on men being ogres.
    Unfair.

  6. @PeeVee :-( Rape is such a heinous crime. It should be punishable by death.
On a lighter note,I think men also get called ogres for a whole host of reasons besides raping...:-P

  7. :D Those ogre-able acts are forgivable, not rape na.

  8. Rahul...I have a talk on this topic Rape with some of my friends. and I would like to second what my Gender Studies friend believe..why give them such lowly punishment in the form of death?? CASTRATE THEM RIGHT WHERE IT WOULD HURT!! So that they live rest of their lives with that handicap that in the very first place made them act like a wild hound!!

  9. And I would like to disagree with Priyanka..U said "Sometimes, it does turn to be the girl's fault for seducing or attracting such men." tell me something is it our fault for the way we were created...with bosoms and a figure that entices men like lustful greedy hounds?? MY ANSWER IS NO!
Women from the very beginning have been nothing but objectified to the extent that all she remains to be is a seductive body on which these sicko, satyriatic men can lay their hands on, and even as they do that, it is she who stays with the brunt of 'being raped'....Men will be men..we all know! with their sexual urges boiling up to the extent that they would engage in acts as life threatening as RAPE! but this for sure doesn't gives us reason to point fingers at women, especially for the way they dress up. If a woman or a girl can't dress up the way she wishes to in her own country, then where does the question of the security of her being the citizen of the country goes??

  10. @Aakriti You're right on both counts.Rapists should get their balls chopped off.And yep, women should be free to wear what they choose to.Everyone has the right to make himself or herself appear attractive.A woman shouldn't have to fear attracting the wrong sort of attention for wearing or dressing in the way she chooses to.Altho,I don't think PeeVee meant 'fault' in the sense that women don't have the right to dress seductively.Maybe all she wanted to say was-since women know there are some lecherous bastards around,it's just wise and smart to dress safe.......

  11. I didn't disagree with Peevee Rahul...but with Priyanka:P..I guess Peevee i on ur mind;) lol:D

  12. @Aakriti :-P He he...But even PeeVee's name is Priyanka...Hence the confusion.

  13. I got goosebumps while reading the poem...

I agree that everybody should take some sort of self defense classes.. In Delhi eve teasing is a big problem. You cant even think of getting out of home and not being teased.. The way certain low lifes think has to be taken care of...

  14. Somehow I disagree with the sentiments expressed in
    "He leaves me,torn,dirty,corrupted and battered
I'll never be the same again,my life is shattered"

It is really this stigma that prevents women from reporting such crime..and helps those morons!!

  15. @Meds I wrote about stigma in that very stanza,no didn't I?????:-)

  16. Great post!!...I would like to add one more thing...Society should offer emotional support and accept the victim of rape instead of harassing them with their words...

  17. Nice poignant lines...so true and an in-human act.

  22. @Mahnoor Thank you so much...I visited your blog too...:-) U got a nice writing style...don't worry I will keep track of watever u're posting from now on....

  23. Rahul.. this is so disturbing! The social stigma that such crimes carry makes the person on whom the crime is committed feel terrible. And I dont like to use the word - VICTIM. It should be called - SURVIVOR. A rapist can violate our bodies but not our spirit. What say?

    ReplyDelete
  24. @Meera I dunno.Don't you think the psychological after-shocks of such a ghastly event might reverberate for a long time in the minds of the victim/survivor??...:-(

If only I could , I would change some lines of this poem
I'm changed forever,I'll never feel the same
I don't know how long I'll carry this shame

I might not know how it would feel, but I think the girl should never carry this shame..it's the guy who shd be ashamed of and drag his ass to hell ..
    very nice poem though :)

  29. @Sakshi Thanks so much for your kind words.I did try my best to portray a woman's agony.Dunno how far I succeeded. And yep,the gal shouldn't carry the shame. But I was referring to the stigma which gets attached to a rape victim in some societies...

  30. @Aakriti i agree with every word of yours..thumbs up!!!
